We look forward to sharing our love of history with you!

Here is what you need to know:

  • Admission is $5, and children 6 and under are free.
  • Everyone (visitors and reenactors) are invited to a church service on Sunday morning (see the schedule for the time).
  • The event is outdoors and will be held rain or shine.  Please dress for the weather.
  • Wear walking shoes!  You can take a short walk along the road to find a great place to watch the battle, or take a longer walk browseing through the camps.
  • Bring a lawn chair.  The battle will last about 30 minutes or so, and a lawn chair will make your viewing more comfortable.
  • Please DO talk to the reenactors!  They are here to share their love of history with you and enjoy talking about the Civil War.  Ask about their clothes, their weapons, what sort of person they are representing, what sort of things they have around their tent - ask anything!

A Note to Teachers

You can learn a lot from a textbook, but there is nothing like talking to a "real" Civil War soldier to get a feel for what it was like during the Civil War.  We encourage you to give extra credit to your students who attend the event.  Provide a list of questions for your students to ask the reenactors, ask them to get an autograph from a historical person, or require that they bring in a selfie of themself with a soldier or hoop-skirted lady to prove they attended the event.  Your students will learn that history is fun!
